Record revenue and a year of AI and machine learning breakthroughs
We released numbers around our record-setting fiscal year, ending on January 31, 2019. Company revenue grew by 60% and new client acquisitions were up by a staggering 200%. Drivers of growth continued to be industry sweet spots: High-Tech, Manufacturing and Financial Services. The company also extended into new lucrative verticals - like insurance - within the Fortune 500 including, Nationwide, MetLife, and NY Life, as well as the company's first significant win in the federal sector with The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
We also launched and achieved certification for Elevate, our suite of apps for ServiceNow®. Coming out of the gate strong by winning a Stevie Award for Sales and Customer Support, Elevate makes it easy for any ServiceNow user to take advantage Attivio’s technology directly in their ServiceNow workflows to increase call deflection and decrease mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR) using machine learning and natural language understanding (read more about what’s possible with Elevate).
In 2018, Attivio also made strides in transforming the way business users apply, tune, and understand critical AI capabilities to find answers and receive insights, making AI more pragmatic and explainable and eliminating the need for IT intervention. This included progress with:
- Conversational AI advancements that make chatbots smarter, more agile, and more adaptable, by unifying disparate data sources and leveraging NLP to search and retrieve the most relevant answer.
- Operational Machine Learning that automatically improves the search experience without manual tuning and exposes relevancy models to admin users, making it completely explainable and intuitive for business and IT users alike.
- Natural Language Understanding advancements, that allow users to ask natural language questions (e.g., "How do I…?"), understand the intent, and dynamically extract the precise answer from the corpus of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Along with the product and technical developments, the company continued to expand. We announced plans to move our headquarters to downtown Boston (100 Summer St). We grew headcount and hired a number of in-demand industry veterans to lead business teams. And we were recognized as a top place to work by Forbes and BostInno.
As the calendar continues to inch closer to Summer, we’re already on pace for a successful 2019, with new deals in customer support and employee experience booked as well as a strong product roadmap that will lead to greater growth.
