Introducing SUIT, a new way to rapidly build search apps
When we meet with our clients, they’re always excited to share – and we’re always excited to learn about – the many search projects they’re working on for the business groups in their organization. They’re building communication monitoring apps for their compliance and risk management groups. They’re developing self-service support applications for customer service. They’re making sure that employees can fully tap the information riches in a unified digital workplace. Our clients also share with us the pressures that they’re facing to bring out more applications, for more business groups. The one thing they don’t get more of is resources: the pressures that IT is under usually include doing more without adding to staff.
We’ve listened to what you’ve been telling us.
That’s why we’ve developed SUIT – Attivio’s new Search UI Toolkit – a framework for quickly building search applications from the simplest to the most complex. SUIT includes all the tools you need to create a new app:
- Search
- Authentication
- API integration
- Results visualization
And SUIT works with both the Attivio search engine and with popular Open Source backends like Elastic and SOLR.
Out-of-the-box integration with Attivio and with Open Source backends
Through our APIs, SUIT easily integrates with Attivio and Open Source search engines, letting developers focus on perfecting the user experience rather than on devoting their scarce resources to the underlying bits and bytes. SUIT, of course, is able to take special advantage of Attivio’s advanced capabilities via Attivio’s APIs: Ingest (real-time content ingestion & enrichment), Signals (signals tracking), and Query (machine-learning relevancy, search profiles, text analytics, and Query-time JOIN).
Tapping the power of the Open Source community to Build Search Apps
SUIT’s platform agnosticism - its ability to integrate not only with the Attivio search platform but with Open Source search platforms - enables IT to deliver end-user search applications quickly and easily using search solutions you already have in place. And SUIT is, in itself, an Open Source app.
This means that the Open Source community will be contributing new features and enhancements. By tapping the expertise and power of the Open Source community, SUIT user will benefit from the cost-savings, time to market, creativity and flexibility inherent to Open Source collaboration.
