Data Silo Unification
Are your employees and customers having to wade through oceans of structured big data and unstructured documents, in other words data silos, to find relevant answers and insights to their questions?
If so, there are several key technologies required to deliver the results your employees and customers need.
In the latest Forrester Wave™, Attivio scored a five (the highest possible for the category) for its ability to use “AI and other technologies to connect to and ingest and understand data.” Attivio makes it easy for customers to maximize the value of their investment and “quickly attain the benefits of cognitive search” by connecting to any data source and unifying disparate data throughout the enterprise in order to provide precise answers to questions.
Connectors
You know where your data lives and you like it there. Without having to move it to a central location, connectors will extract relevant data making it searchable, masking your data silos. Attivio provides connectors to 60+ popular business applications such as Sharepoint, SFDC, ServiceNow, Box, and Google Drive (more than most vendors). In addition, an SDK allows you to develop custom connectors and/or integrate with your own third-party apps.
Data Extraction
The ability to automatically extract text from myriad of data and file types to perform tokenization and lemmatization improves recall for employee and customer search (Attivio supports over 600). Some of our differentiated capabilities include entity extraction, key phrase detection, classification, and sentiment analysis. All of these capabilities are driven by machine learning models but can also be managed and extended by business users using GUIs for managing dictionaries and rules-based tagging.
Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Using NLP, a smart search engine can actually understand the content of your documents. By constructing a unified index, it doesn’t matter where the data comes from (those pesky data silos again), all of it is auto-tagged and standardized to provide the most relevant answer. This means the software infers meaning from virtually any text a user enters, thereby returning the most relevant results to any query, be it an email lookup from an employee or a complex question from a customer on your site. For end users, this means they will get the answer they need without having to worry about where it resides, what it looks like, or how to view it.
