Attivio's Classification Engine automatically builds highly accurate categorization models by analyzing a set of training documents. The Classification Engine categorizes content as part of any AIE ingestion workflow, adding new metadata to each document.

In addition to simply categorizing a document based on the optimal top-scoring category, the Classification Engine outputs categories and calculated scores as metadata in many useful ways, including the ability to define a flexible hierarchy of categories and sub-categories for new documents.

Classification results can be used to trigger time-saving, business-building workflows and alerts, such as automatically emailing documents with certain categories to select recipients, routing other categorized documents to one or more enterprise applications and much more.
