Attivio’s Active Intelligent Engine (AIE) is the first information platform to provide true contextual intelligence by looking at the whole corporate picture and then acting on it. AIE understands structured data (e.g. applications, databases) and unstructured content (e.g. documents, email) to find the important intersections between them. It then ties them directly to actions or events, which could be alerts to a person or a call into an application to do something, automating the entire process as much as needed. AIE ingests data and content for indexing and queries for processing; it returns back results and actions.
AIE opens the door for all sorts of new opportunities: corporate applications and systems that manage data, documents, and content are all enhanced with AIE at their core. The demand is there. We are now seeing terms like "Information Fabric" and "Information Infrastructure" to represent the broader view, and "Operational Business Intelligence" as a term for tying information to process.
AIE is offered two ways to our customers. Attivio AIE is the platform you use to build your own internal solutions. Embedded AIE is optimized specifically for embedding in other software applications.
