Product Manager

Attivio is looking for an experienced Product Manager. In this position you will have impact on the continued success of Attivio utilizing your skills in product management with a twist of strategy, product marketing and program management. You will work extensively with Sales, Marketing and Development to define, scope, provide requirements and define product roadmap for AIE.

Responsibilities

• Market research and analysis to determine strategic positioning and product roadmap
• Manage schedules, resource maps and status updates
• Deliver MRD and PRD's with prioritized features and corresponding justification
• Define functional requirements at a market requirements level; work closely with their product owner counterpart
• Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
• Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
• Be an expert with respect to the competition
• Work in conjunction with design team
• Drive partner/client integrations to successful and timely completion and launch.
• Specify product market and functional roadmap for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to existing and prospective customers as well as business partners.
• Contribute to product roadmap planning and development
• Drive a product solution to completion and release across teams including Development/Engineering and Quality Assurance.
• Interact with sales and marketing to develop market positioning papers and presentations
• Interact with customers and business partners on new product solutions.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions; limited software development, query development may be necessary.
  

Requirements

• 3 plus years in a product management role
• 3 plus years experience in a technical role
• Experience with software design & development within enterprise.
• Search, Data warehousing experience +
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Hands on product management experience working with current tools and methodologies
• Excellent time management, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and technical skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and to think beyond "outside of the box".
• Ability to coordinate a wide range of assignments by managing dependencies, expectations and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  
• Responsible for eliciting software requirements using a Marketing Requirements Document (MRD) developed by the product planning/marketing team and developing a high level Product Requirements Document (PRD) and an elaborate Software Requirements Specification (SRS) for the software engineering/development organization for subsequent design, development, and testing activities.
• BS/BA degree required, preferably in Computer Science /Engineering / Business
• MS or MBA desirable
• Technical skills in Software development life cycle and engineering highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and cross-group collaboration skills to bring the organization to consensus on decisions on both short and long-term product plans
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• The ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• The ability to think differently, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive new best practices
