Try the London 2012 Social Media Analysis App by Attivio and TIBCO Spotfire

TIBCO Software spoke with Mass High Tech about the app and how its collaboration with Attivio extends their analytic capabilities to incorporate unstructured (human created) content and Big Data:

The London Athletes Social Mania application analyzes activity on Twitter for the previous 24 hours. Lou Jordano, director of product marketing at TIBCO Spotfire, told Mass High Tech that the whole idea is to show potential customers the power of the software partnership TIBCO has made with Attivio in its most recent software release.

“We wanted to show our ability to integrate unstructured content, like a tweet, with structured content,” he said.

The app combines TIBCO Spotfire software and Attivio’s Active Intelligence Engine (AIE) to provide an interactive dashboard where users can enter any athlete, sport, or keyword and translate the results into an interactive data visualization.

While this app focuses on Twitter, similar analysis can also be extended to emails, customer call records, surveys, news, SharePoint, etc.

The London Athletes Social Mania app shows how Attivio’s Active Intelligence Engine (AIE) enables analytics and information discovery. AIE can utilize disparate sources of unstructured content - whether alone or in combination with structured data - and unify this information with structured data for deeper, more complete analytic insight, using TIBCO Spotfire.
