Integrating structured and unstructured data, text and data mining, and search and business intelligence open the door for all sorts of new intelligent applications that "mash up" not just UI but application logic and data. What new types of applications can we think of? Extra points for thinking about how the mash-up can be actionable: triggering application activity, alert notifications, etc. And extra points if there is a real-time need in there as well. All ideas are welcome!
