Research & Development


Software Project Manager (Scrum Master)


We are looking to add a seasoned leader in our Engineering team who provides hands on technical leadership and manage a team of software developers to deliver releases incorporating outstanding development processes to achieve quality, performance, and engineering efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that new customer deliverables are developed, tested and delivered on-time and to specified requirements
  • Work with engineers to establish development goals, make sure development goals are met, etc
  • Work with management to ensure sufficient detail, answer questions, resolve unknowns, reduce risk, etc.
  • Drive and mediate technological decision discussion based on business requirements.  Follow-up on outcomes.
  • Execute the Agile process:
    • Ensure core software is always within 3-4 weeks of being shippable as a new version
    • Run daily stand up meetings
    • Manage ticket triage process
    • Schedule & oversee code reviews
    • Manage sprint planning and results tracking/reporting
    • Establish Sprint Themes with Product Management
    • Set up sprint tasks list  based on Sprint themes
  • Work with management to establish sprint metrics and collect/report results
  • Ensure customer demands on software delivery for features, versions, hotfixes and associated communication are met
  • Participate in the hiring process
  • Ensure highest software quality at all time (Findbugs, Code Coverage, System Tests)
  • Manage releases of the product including online documentation updates


Requirements

  • Experience with server side software that handles large volumes (thousands of transactions per seconds on hundreds of servers) is mandatory.
  • Recent experience with Java development (hands-on programming is not required.)
  • Experience with technologies including web-based multi-tier applications, and database systems.
  • Experience with development process and tools including source control, bug tracking systems, and automation tools.  Ideal candidates will have experience with continuous integration practices.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and delivering high quality enterprise software applications on time; ideally 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Project management experience in Agile methodologies as well as standard SDLC (waterfall, iterative, etc).
  • Excellent organization skills, flexibility and the ability to work in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Ability to be a positive change agent within the Engineering team and with other organizations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent education

 

Principal Flex GUI Engineer/Architect


We are looking for a Principal Flex GUI Engineer/Architect with 6+ years of experience developing cutting-edge GUIs for enterprise software products. We're looking for someone that can develop high-quality software at a fast pace while following best practices and responding to the needs of our customers. You should enjoy working with small, tight-knit teams of highly skilled developers. You should be a passionate engineer with a broad range of programming skills, however you should have recent experience with the latest best of breed web-based technologies, especially in the areas of Web 2.0 (AJAX), RIA (Flash/Flex/PaperVision3D) , Rapid Web Development frameworks (Ruby/Rails, Python/Django, Groovy/Grails) and Web Services (REST, SOAP). Candidates should enjoy switching between various programming projects, ramping up quickly and delivering.

  • Design, develop, and own our next-generation Flex-based GUI architecture
  • Provide recommendations on feature set and technical infrastructure for projects and new system modules
  • User experience design, including wireframes, storyboards, and use cases development

Recommender/Collaborative Filtering Engineer


We are seeking a highly energetic and self-motivated Engineer to work on various challenging projects in our fast-paced organization. Candidates for consideration should enjoy working in a dynamic team environment, have a desire to work on cutting-edge technologies, have related technical education, and have an enthusiasm to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Working on cutting-edge information retrieval and analysis software, especially in the areas of recommender systems and collaborative filtering systems, and more generally in social network analysis.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues.
  • Resolving complex customer challenges, if necessary.


Requirements

  • Previous experience as a technical project manager or program leader
  • 10+ years leading complex software integration projects
  • Requires understanding recent research, quick prototyping to investigate new ideas, and completing products incorporating those advances.
  • Experience with reasoning systems or recommender systems, collaborative filtering systems, and/or social network analysis.
  • Knowledge of information retrieval and natural language processing, both in research and in development.
  • 5+ years programming experience
  • Strong Java development experience
  • MS in CS preferred or related field experience

Sales & Marketing


International Channel Sales Representative


Attivio is seeking an International Channel Sales Representative to support their efforts to forge new relationships and manage existing partnerships.  The position is specifically responsible for participating in driving revenue through strategic alliances. The International Channel Sales Representative will assist in developing business value propositions with targeted partners and execute on strategic and tactical programs to achieve revenue targets. The successful candidate will have a background in collaborating within a team and executing on field level sales and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with SVP Sales in defining, initiating and implementing revenue generating partner programs.
  • Outbound telephone prospecting and lead generation activities with Partners. 
  • Candidate must expect to have substantial travel (at least 50% of the time).
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of targeted partner ecosystems through research, partner interactions and other means.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing to develop and implement strategic and tactical partner marketing plans, programs and campaigns.
  • Collectively work with internal counterparts in sales engineering, product management, development, etc to innovate and establish features, functions and benefits vital to solution delivery with and through technology partners.


Requirements

  • MUST have 10-15 years experience in international channel sales with a proven track record in recruiting, training and selling with 3-8 channel partners.
  • The successful candidate has built co-marketing programs, training and sales support programs. The key here is a record of driving business and getting partner commitment.
  • Must have a track record of earning at least $250k/year (OTE) over the past 3-5 years (W-2's required).
  • Understanding of the software development, product release and market positioning process.
  • Experience in email archiving, rdbms, BI tools & search is highly desirable.
  • Candidate must have at least 3 channel partner references.
  • BS or BA degree

 

Regional Sales Director (New York/New Jersey)


The Regional Sales Director  role is a quota carrying enterprise software field sales position responsible for meeting and exceeding quota by generating and closing new opportunities. The perfect candidate is a highly experienced person selling to Fortune 1000 companies.  The ideal candidate is also a motivated seasoned sales professional with experience across the entire spectrum of the enterprise software sales cycle (prospecting, value proposition definition / qualification, demonstrations, pilot process management, business case development, negotiation, closing).

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a regional team and/or independently to pursue new account opportunities for sales of software, consulting and training engagements within assigned territory  or verticals.
  • Manage opportunities through the sales cycle from initial inquiry to forecasted pipeline to deal design and close.
  • Identify and close additional or incremental opportunities with existing customers in territory.
  • Provide continuous updates on all active accounts within the company CRM system and report on sales activities, status and progress on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and reference-ability.
  • Travel and a significant level of activity is required to achieve quota for territory.

Technical Sales Engineer


The technical sales engineer role is client-facing, fast-paced, wide-ranging and challenging. It requires a mixture of application development and deployment skills, hands-on coding and problem-solving, presentation skills, sales awareness, and business acumen. Regional travel is extensive.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general presales consulting support
  • Create, develop, and present solutions, proposals, and presentations for/with opportunity leaders and/or prospective customers
  • Maintain toolkit for responding to typical pre-sales inquiries
  • Assist in development of technically oriented sales and marketing materials
  • Market Attivio products and solutions in trade shows and industry events
  • Relay client feedback and requirements to the development team in the form of business requirement and use case documents
  • Coordinate account on-boarding and assure smooth transition to the operations and customer service teams

Requirements

  • MUST have excellent knowledge of Java.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years in sales, with a demonstrated track record of sales achievement, technical competence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ideal candidates will have strong GUI, general application integration and/or Java programming skills.
  • Ability to work with standardized and highly engineered products and solutions
  • Knowledge and previous experience working in enterprise search a plus
  • Effective interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to work across organizational boundaries
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Solid written, verbal communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to follow through and complete assigned tasks
  • Exceptionally strong technical trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Requirements

Attivio is looking to hire a Senior Technical Support Engineer. This is a very advanced position that involves hands on work in a dynamic professional environment with our cutting edge Attivio technology, code, customers, and a veteran team of extremely experienced Attivio engineers.
