Research & Development
Principal GUI Engineer
We are looking for a Principal GUI Engineer with 6+ years of experience developing cutting-edge GUIs. We're looking for someone that can bring a strong UI vision and develop high-quality software at a fast pace.
You should enjoy working with small, tight-knit teams of highly skilled developers. You should be a passionate engineer with a broad range of programming skills, however you should have recent experience with some of the latest best of breed UI technologies, such as: GWT, JQuery, Prototype, MVC-style frameworks (Spring MVC), AJAX, RIA (Flash/Flex) , Rapid Web Development frameworks (Ruby/Rails, Python/Django, Groovy/Grails) and/or Web Services (REST, SOAP).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and lead our new end user, developer and administrator GUI initiatives
- Provide recommendations on feature set and technical infrastructure for projects and new system modules
- User experience design, including wireframes, storyboards, and use cases development

Recommender/Collaborative Filtering Engineer
We are seeking a highly energetic and self-motivated Engineer to work on various challenging projects in our fast-paced organization. Candidates for consideration should enjoy working in a dynamic team environment, have a desire to work on cutting-edge technologies, have related technical education, and have an enthusiasm to learn.
Responsibilities
- Working on cutting-edge information retrieval and analysis software, especially in the areas of recommender systems and collaborative filtering systems, and more generally in social network analysis.
- Assist in resolving technical issues.
- Resolving complex customer challenges, if necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a technical project manager or program leader
- 10+ years leading complex software integration projects
- Requires understanding recent research, quick prototyping to investigate new ideas, and completing products incorporating those advances.
- Experience with reasoning systems or recommender systems, collaborative filtering systems, and/or social network analysis.
- Knowledge of information retrieval and natural language processing, both in research and in development.

Senior Technical Writer
Become a key member of a rapidly growing enterprise search software company. As a Senior Technical Writer you will be exposed to the latest Java-based technologies and cutting edge software architecture. Your primary responsibility will be to assist our customers and partners in learning and using our technology through documentation. You will be working with modern tools such as Wikis and video to produce accessible, high-quality product documentation.
Responsibilities
- Author end-user documentation, technical manuals, white papers, solution recipes and interactive documentation to support end clients and technology partners
- Manages, updates and coordinates our online client, partner and developer website, the Attivio Developer Network
- Work closely with research and development team members to understand product architecture, use and deployment
- Ensure quality and accuracy of documentation
- Interact with OEM customer technical writing and services organizations on collaborative documentation efforts
- Drive future direction of documentation efforts, such as video or online systems for sharing of techniques and code segments between customers and partners
Requirements
- Applicants should have 5+ years writing documentation for enterprise software products, and a portfolio they can share with us.
- Experience documenting Java-based products is strongly desired

Regional Sales Director (New York/New Jersey)
The Regional Sales Director role is a quota carrying enterprise software field sales position responsible for meeting and exceeding quota by generating and closing new opportunities. The perfect candidate is a highly experienced person selling to Fortune 1000 companies. The ideal candidate is also a motivated seasoned sales professional with experience across the entire spectrum of the enterprise software sales cycle (prospecting, value proposition definition / qualification, demonstrations, pilot process management, business case development, negotiation, closing).
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a regional team and/or independently to pursue new account opportunities for sales of software, consulting and training engagements within assigned territory or verticals.
- Manage opportunities through the sales cycle from initial inquiry to forecasted pipeline to deal design and close.
- Identify and close additional or incremental opportunities with existing customers in territory.
- Provide continuous updates on all active accounts within the company CRM system and report on sales activities, status and progress on a regular basis.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and reference-ability.
- Travel and a significant level of activity is required to achieve quota for territory.

Sales Engineer - Solutions Architect - Information Access
The Solution Architects are the primary source of technical expertise for both the Attivio Sales team (OEM, Direct, and Channel) and prospective and current customers. The role requires deep technical knowledge and hands-on capabilities, problem solving skills, presentation ability, business understanding, and a passion to constantly learn and adapt new technologies and methodologies. The successful candidate will join the solution architects team in a fast paced environment with great growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- You will be a critical part of our sales team, functioning as a technical expert
- Work with other solution architects to deliver successful Proofs of Concept (POCs) on time
- Propose and design technical solutions tailored to clients needs, base on Attivio’s Active Intelligence Engine (AIE) platform
- Create and edit scopes of work for prototypes and POCs

Technical Support Engineer
Attivio is looking to hire a Senior Technical Support Engineer. This is a very advanced position that involves hands on work in a dynamic professional environment with our cutting edge Attivio technology, code, customers, and a veteran team of extremely experienced Attivio engineers. This position entails extensive exposure to enterprise application environments, application servers, and other 3rd party technologies. Applicants who have a strong computer science background and a drive to work with code and customers are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with Attivio products, Attivio code, and Attivio customers in order to resolve live customer issues and enhance Attivio technology.
- Troubleshoot and find resolutions to complex technical problems reported by Attivio customers.
- Fix software bugs and deliver fixes or patches to customers.
- Incorporate findings into Attivio Best Practices methodology and document key technical solutions in company knowledge base.
- Be ready to provide direct onsite technical assistance to Attivio customers, in a consulting or advisory role.
