Technology vendors are really good at telling consumers about the problems that they (the customers) have. Of course, vendors usually offer a solution to any issue/challenge a buyer has. When I see different behavior, like a vendor stating a potential problem and helping a buyer think about solving it (as opposed to just saying they have the "magic pill" or "the only widget to solve the problem"), it is worth mentioning.
This brings me to Attivio's Unified Information Access maturity model, which, clearly, has some selfish connotations (Attivio is in the business of helping customers connect and access a variety of data sources), but also provides a benchmark to help buyers actually take a series of steps to better use their information. The model is the topic of this week's bullets.
