Attivio Active Intelligence Engine Again Honored as KMWorld Trend-Setting Product

Monday, August 24, 2009, Company Release

Company recognized for innovative unified information access platform

Attivio, Inc. today announced its Active Intelligence EngineTM (AIE) has been named a KMWorld 2009 Trend-Setting Product. AIE is the first Unified Information Access platform to provide a complete view of the relevant information landscape, using information-driven workflow and real-time updates to deliver insight on all types of content, when and where it is needed. With AIE, applications and solutions provide users with precise, structured analytics and conceptual, linguistic exploration in any context, independent of the structure of the underlying data.

"We are honored to be named a KMWorld 2009 Trend-Setting Product for the second year in a row," said Ali Riaz, CEO of Attivio. "The Attivio Active Intelligence Engine provides the precision of SQL and the fuzziness of search in a way that continues to differentiate us in the marketplace. The selection of the AIE platform for this list illustrates the growing demand from business users for a sophisticated unified information access platform that is agile, efficient, easy to use and secure. With the recent release of version 1.5, AIE will further advance and transform the way information is indexed and distributed within the enterprise."

The updated version of AIE offers modules for Classification, Sentiment and Optical Character Recognition (OCR), as well as significant new features including high-availability ingestion and querying, guaranteed indexing and next-generation security.

AIE v1.5's enhanced security model eliminates the need for an enterprise search engine plus a relational database to manage complex document-level permissioning by storing content, groups and users as separate tables in its Universal Index. This allows significant cost savings and near-real-time access control updates because there is no need to re-index as changes occur.

"More than 800 products were assessed by the judging panel and all those selected clearly demonstrate identifiable technology breakthroughs," said Hugh McKellar, KMWorld editor-in-chief. "Undeniably, Attivio is at the forefront of its industry and continues to spark innovation with its AIE platform, offering a state-of-the-art platform for unified information access."
