The landscape as we knew it has changed, and many organizations are now leveraging advanced search techniques as they strive to transform multiple silos of data, into a single mountain of information.
Our world is always evolving and improving, and yet extremely volatile at the same time. Across the globe, there are still times when terrible events, from human atrocities to natural disasters, catch us off-guard. The long term devastation of these events have been markedly decreased with the rapid growth and expansion in the technology sector. Technology, especially the increase in universal access to social media, allows people in different hemispheres to hear the cries for help much faster and drastically decrease the response time.
Is enterprise search dead? This was the hot topic of a recent panel discussion that I attended. Whit Andrews, a leading search analyst of Gartner, Sue Feldman, CEO and Founder of Synthexis; Larry Kim, Founder and CTO of Wordstream and Columnist at Search Engine Land; and Hadley Reynolds, Principal Analyst, NextEra Research discussed a number of topics around this main question of search, even expanding into the world of how the wide spread use of mobile devices affects the search space.
I didn’t expect it, but I learned a lot about Community at New York Comic Con. Comic Con is a large event in which fans of film, comic books, and popular culture gather to participate in programs and meet experts, famous personalities, and each other. I personally go there for a chance to rub elbows with George Clooney and Hugh Laurie.
